Cub Scout Pack 370Service Opportunities
Opportunities for on-going service projects for your Den
Red Shields Services: this Salvation Army Family Homeless shelter
has many on-going needs. Can your Den organize a party like Valentine's
or an Easter Egg Hunt? How about bringing along cookies and juice and
just taking time to play board games or read books during a winter day?
Centennial Park is near by and a great place to organize a kickball game
for all. These are children of families that are temporarily homeless.
They currently have a warm, safe place to live and stay but none of the
niceties of a real home like yours. Their parents are gone all day and
their home is rather bleak since it is more a "room" than a "home". What
can you do to show you care? Heads up: Dinner is served early so
scheduling after school can be challenging, but don't give up.

Children's Restoration Network: This is small but growing
organization geared to helping
homeless families and children around Metro Atlanta. Their Back-2-School
campaign in August, their 12 Days of Giving campaign in December and their
Easter Outfits for Spring give you several varied opportunities to help
this organization help others by manning collection barrels, sending
volunteers to events, collecting gifts and donations, sorting donations or
wrapping presents. Pick what works for you. Best way to stay involved is
to get on their volunteer email list:
